Introducing - The DangerCam

Ok peeps so it's been a while since I last posted, there hasn't been too much crazy action going on in Japanistan lately. That said, on Saturday I bought myself a brand spanking Canon Ixy 900 IS, which from this point forth shall be known as the DangerCam. Check this bad boy out:

With 7.1 MP, 3.8x Optical Zoom and a 28mm lens, it's all love baby, all love. So I guess you can expect to see a lot more quality pics posted up here. And by quality pics, I mean:
  • lots of self shots of me
  • lots of snaps of my massive guns
For instance:

The guy with the incredible pipes is me (of course), that's my friend tony on the left. And yes, I did have to take my jacket half off for this shot. What a trooper.
Ok so my new cam is going to be great fun, that is of course until I get really drunk and lose it, like I did with my last digi cam. Being the new toy and all, I took it out to Fern's birthday drinks on Saturday night, took just the 109 photo's for the night. See below for some results.

L to r: Lauren, Carl, Rashell, Jen and half of Emer's face. When the girls asked me 'What do you want to drink' and I said 'Four shots, vodka', they failed to detect the note of sarcasm in my voice. So I bought them a couple of shots as well, just so no one would miss out.

Yeah it was a good night. I have to admit though that nomi hodi (all you can drink) is absolutely killing me. For example, Saturday's event cost me 25 bucks for unlimited drinks from 9:30 till 2:00am. It's just a recipe for a massive hangover. But, the crowd loves it.

In other news, my nemesis, the apartment that they are building next door, is totally in my head. Every morning at 7:00 am I wake to the enchanting sounds of metal being sawed, concrete being drilled, and noisy materials being noisily somethinged, noisily. I went and got some ear plugs the other week, they make sleeping a little better although it's not the best. Me and Fern have admitted defeat and are currently looking for a new apartment.
I also did some casual work for another kids English School last weekend, which involved interviewing around 130 kids (one on one) to test their skills. It was just a few basic questions like "What's your name?", "how old are you?", (show them a picture and say) "where's the teddy bear?", stuff like that. It was good fun and I got paid decently so it was well worth it. Only one four year old girl started crying on me - I asked her what her name was, which she was fine with, but she had nothing with "How old are you?". As a sneaky diversionary tactic she just burst into tears. So when she started crying, I told the silly little cow to get her shit together, shut the hell up, and answer the damn question. Nah, only joking. Why would I waste my breath on all that when a simple back-hander could do the job?
Double 'Nah, only joking' - she left the room, but came back later with her mum and did really well. When she was about to cry the first time, I could see it coming too, it took maybe thirty seconds for the waterworks to eventually break. I thought I'd just sit back and give her more time, but the second time when she still had nothing on "how old are you?", I distracted her with another question which seemed to work much better.

Here's a few more random snaps that I took with my mobile camera (so they're a little grainy).

Japanese guy napping in a park, at 3:00am, on concrete. After a few drinks, you're riding your bike home, feel a bit tired - why not, really?

And check out Tony's blue booties. Ha! He's like, claiming to be male, but wearing knitted blue booties. Gold.

Ok that's me for now, but going to Okinawa tomorrow for four days, which I suspect will be AWESOME. Until next time, keep it real,

Maxi.
